Glossary entry
The EURO STOXX 50 tracks 50 major blue-chip companies from the eurozone under the provider's selection and weighting rules. It is designed as a benchmark for large euro-area equities and supports related investment products. Its geographic scope is narrower than all of Europe, and constituents may conduct substantial business beyond the currency area.
Illustrative example
A portfolio benchmarked to the EURO STOXX 50 emphasizes large eurozone companies. It does not automatically include major UK or Swiss companies outside that index universe.
What to consider
Check country and sector weights, return version, and currency exposure. An index-linked product can add fees, tracking differences, or derivative risks.
