Identify the message type
Marketing messages, price alerts and security notices serve different purposes. Turning off promotions may leave important transaction or access notices active. Start by identifying the sender and the type of message you want to stop. If a message looks suspicious, do not use its embedded login link. Open the service through an address you already trust and inspect the available communication preferences there.
Keep a record of your request
Record which channel you changed, the date and any confirmation. Device notification settings and a provider's email preferences may operate separately, so check both when an alert continues.
